Volvo 50 Battery issue

Hi, so since a few months I am now the owner of a 2009 V50 2.4L Diesel. Great car and get's much better fuel economy than my old car. But as Karma strikes I, again, have a car with battery issues. I drive a lot, during the week 90km a day. So the battery always get's charged and that works fine. On ...

High Battery draw S80 T6 2002

Hi, i'm back here with yet more problems. I really need to fix the high draw issue. The car draws over 400mA, locked, low Alarm and I waited 40mins to measure it. That is way too high. I tried to pull the fuses to see, but i only managed 2 and on the third the alarm went off. Is there a way to test ...

MAF and check engine light

I fixed the biggest problem of my car. Now come a lot more. Basically ever since I bought the car the CEL was on. I was told that Volvo found no issue and everything is fine. BOught a cheap ebay scanner and got a whole bunch of error codes. All to do with a wrong (too rich) fuel mixture. I finally f...

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

There are actually some little transistors or whatever that are completely burned. There is no saving it. I took the battery out, sealed the box with tape and put it back in for now (until I get a new one). All the functions of the car are there (except that the alarm is probably not going to work) ...

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

Update. The car got a new battery and runs..BUT something was really draining the battery. On the hunt and with the message "alarm service required" the obvious cause was found.
The pc board is fried.
Can I drive without the Module? I need the car and don't have a new module.

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

I rigged a cable together and, at least while testing, it worked. Not pretty, but a real cable is on the way.
If it works tomorrow for the entire day without a hitch, I guess the problem has finally been solved!!
Maybe even the alternator was a waste.

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

I think I might have actually found the culprit. The wire that goes from the alternator to the connector in the fusebox was causing problem. But not the wire itself, nor the fixed part. It seems like the connector inside was causing the issues. After talking to a Volvo service I found out that that ...

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

Yes I'm 100% sure. The coolant warning came on as well, but that is no problem. Just had to top it up. Took the car to work this morning. The first 900m were nailbiting with a lot of angry words, but the warning light turned off and I had a nice 40km cruise without a single warning light. It is just...

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

The next "problem" is now here. I fixed the wire, everything checked out. I replaced the alternator. It came with a new regulator aswell. It ran fine....14.4V. Shut her off, cleaned up, went for a test drive...still everything as it should be. Then i got my wallet and went to the supermark...

Re: Strange Voltage Problems

I was afraid that that wire tap could be the problem. I'll try and fix that properly but I will also get the alternator checked while it's out I might as well.
