The guys who told me all that were at the Volvo dealer! Now I am really angry because I already ordered the parts from FCP Groton. Here is a picture of the mounts... they really don't look broken to me.

I went to the dealer to do an alignment (1996 volvo 850glt) and they told me that they could not because my driver side strut is leaking and that the strut mount is broken. I went home and took everything apart. Now I didn't see anything wrong with the strut mount on the driver side and it looks ...

I just got a volvo 1996 850 with 75000miles on it. I don't know what kind of oil was used in it. Should I use synthetic? What do you guys use?

The bracket looks bent too. I called the dealer and got the part number 9200189. ($95). I'll check some junkyards maybe I'll find it cheaper. I have no idea what could have done that. What is strange is that there are no other signs of damage underneath... oh well.
