Re: '05 XC70 Electrical Gremlin?
It was months ago, I kinda doubt it, but I'll certainly take a look if it crops up again. It hasn't happened again since I removed the dead cigarette lighter adapter, but it's sporadic enough that I'm not sold on that fix yet (unless that's something people have seen before.)

'05 XC70 Electrical Gremlin?
The radio started changing channels on its own the other day. The charger/FM emitter just died, and while some stations still seem to come in others have been replaced by what, were I not a fan of experimental electronic music, I would call 'horrible bent circuit noises.'

Took apart the center console to clean and lube the shift lock. Was easier than I thought. Hoping it does not stick again.

Coolant Type: Fear, uncertainty, and doubt ('05 xc70)
Recently I had my coolant replaced. I drove out and bam! Low coolant level (which went away almost as quickly so I think it was right on the edge.) So I did what I always do; poured some coolant into the resovor. I used the universal coolant (bright green) that I always used for my '00.

Turns out it totally was a (now entirely roached) stuck caliper.

Re: '05 XC70 shakes around 35-40- balance? Brakes?
I should note that the vibration feels like it's on the vertical plane (my first thought was actually engine mounts), the steering isn't shaking particularly-the body if the car is (I mostly feel it in the seat!)

'05 XC70 shakes around 35-40- balance? Brakes?
So I just recently got the suspension done and snow tires put on, because the old wagon was trying to shake itself to pieces on every bump. But in the clear light of fixed suspension, a new problem became visible-around 35 and 40mph I get wheel shake... Sometimes . The sometimes but is the most ...

2005 XC70 headlight upgrade
So I'm finding the brightness of the headlights a bit lackluster. Can't see far enough ahead of me at night, and there are deer and such around here. I know there where better headlights as an option, Xenon or some such, can those be swapped right in? Or has anyone found LED headlights that are ...

Which on the 05 XC70 is fuse 10 in the compartment behind the door. Sure enough, it was blown, and luckily there was ...

I think I've blown some fuses - replace all or try to diagnose?
I had to replace the battery and when I did a bunch of the interior lights quit, the high beam toggle, and turn signals don't work. Oddly the radio works but the display does not. I figure I've blown a few fuses, I was wondering if it's worth trying to diagnose each individual fuse or is it SOP to ...
