As for the evap, we have managed to replace the L hose through that access hole, but we could never seem to put our hands on the J hose. Should it be right there when we open it?

Our 1999 v70xc has had trouble starting when cold. It starts, runs for one to two seconds, then stumbles and dies. Repeats three to four times, eventually it will stay on, with some minor difficulty.
