Electrical troubleshoot
Am tackling getting 03' started after hiatus. Series of previous fixes, relays fuses, looking parasitical drain. Went into limp mode once, replaced alternator twice, new battery (12.7 +) . I just went out and hooked up fresh charged battery and cooling fan came on just like before. I didn't even ...

Definitely can. If a diode shorts to ground or to no resistance (a bit unusual but does happen) it will drain the battery in a few hours.
Is this diode shorting going on in the regulator or in alternator?

Re: 2002 V70 X/C alternator output
How can one tell if their current alternator was replaced with one of the right size? How would one go about confirming their current alternator is indeed correct one? Is there a way the VID gets used to find out option package?

03' XC70 Engaging serpentine tensioner
Am removing alternator to address over voltage. Hoping a voltage regulator will do the trick.
Hoping this belt release is the most difficult part.
Went and bought a 60 torx and couldn't achieve insertion. I can feel that star hole on the inside side of the belt, but it's so close to the inside ...

Re: I think I need to replace window slider driver's side.
Just did both on my new 03 xc70 and it can be done. I learned this. Bending those arms back is easy as they are thick sheet metal.I have to bend one bar a little more as it doesn't go quite all the way down. I couldn't get a tool between those slider and it's connection to get any decent prying. My ...
