2005 V50 - intermittent blower

Hello all,

I'm chasing down what seems to be an electrical gremlin related to the heater blower motor on this car: a friend originally bought the car and I did a bunch of work on it including changing the blower fan. When I bought it back from my friend, the blower fan was only working ...

Yes, it is. I'll have to dig it out of my spare parts pile, but yes.

PM sent.

Hey,
I was wondering if you ever sorted this out? I still have this ETM viewtopic.php?p=590079#p590079

Re: ETM - rebuilt by XeMODeX

I'm pretty sure this one will only work on 2001 and 2002 non-turbo cars.

Sorry.

ETM - rebuilt by XeMODeX

Hi,

I have a 2001 V70 2.4 (non-turbo) that I now use for parts. I had the ETM done by XeMODeX during the period I was trying to save the car, before figuring out that it has a spun bearing. The ETM has under 50 km on it.

I was offered $35 by Xemodex, but if anybody has any use for this, I'll give ...

Re: Compatible headlights for Volvo XC70

My understanding is that they will all fit, but there are a few different options visually so they might not look exactly the same. Not a problem if you are replacing both. Wiring should be exactly the same as long as you don't have Xenon lamps.

Re: Oil pressure problems

I hadn't thought of tapping an old sensor, good idea. I'll give that a go on the weekend and I'll have a better idea of what I'm actually working with...

I certainly hope that it's not the bearings, but I might just have to face the facts and start looking for a long block.

Re: Oil pressure problems

I'm looking at the price for a new oil pump - can these be rebuilt or new seals installed instead of being replaced?

@abscate Yes, I replaced all the o-rings and seals (plus the one for the oil pickup tube) as per instructions here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/volvo-oil-sump-o-ring ...

Re: Oil pressure problems

I wondered about the oil pressure sender way back before I dropped the pan to install the new oil rings, so I swapped one in from a scrap car and I still get the same error. It could still be sludge plugging the sender, but I did clean it out before installing. I bought a cheap manual oil pressure ...
