2000 XC70 fuel pressure regulator
2000 XC70 fuel pressure regulator
I've researched everywhere to find the fuel pressure regulator on my 2000 XC70 AWD Turbo but I don't find one. I've been told it's on the firewall on the passenger side. There's nothing there. The car is hard to start, then will idle smooth for about 30 seconds then will start bucking, then it'll run smooth, back and forth. Run's fine on the road at high speed but I'm afraid to take it anywhere for fear of it not starting. I've replaced the MAF sensor with no change, and want to do everything else before I move to the fuel pump. I want to be sure everything else is working right before I tackle the fuel pump project. Does anyone know where this elusive regulator is? What am I missing? Thanks
My question, once again, is....does this model and year of car have a fuel pressure regulator or does it only have the damper on the fuel rail? I bought this car for the AWD and I haven't driven it since Christmas. We've had so much freakin snow and I've not driven it ONCE in the snow. I will NOT take this to a dealer or the local good ole boy shop...one takes all your money, the other takes all your time then says they don't work on them there foreign vehicles. Sorry, I'm a bit frustrated with all the run around I've gotten with this one question and finally decided to get on this forum and ask as I felt you all had a lot of wisdom to share. But all I've seen as a possible answer to my situation is - "check the fuel pressure regulator".....yeah, I'd do that, but where is it? I even bought one to trade it out to see if that was the problem.
To be nice and answer your question, the fuel pressure is at 37 right now, I know it should be in the mid 40's. Has a long crank time when starting and it surges when it idles. I believe the ECU is fine. I changed out the MAF sensor as well.
thanks for your time, just want one answer - it's a yes or no question. thanks

Yes, it does. It's near the fuel tank on an AWD.
Hopefully this will help you
