1997 850 Air Conditioning

Post by Mike2968 »

When the weather is hot (90+) and I run the aircon, it quits throwing cool air after awhile. It then comes back and quits every 15 minutes or so. So we go between cool (not cold) air and the hot outside air.

Took it to our dealer in Santa RosaCA, and was told that when the system gets hot the aircon shuts down. Can this be? It only works when I don't need it?

Can this be ?

The dealer here disconnects some electrical A/C connections that make it so that the compressor will not kickoff like it was originally designed to do b/c customers complain when it's 100 degrees here and their A/C kicks off. Another thing that could make the compressor kick off is that there is not enough freon in the system.
