when i test for codes i put the wire in and press the button and the light doesnt flash.........why ???

I have a Volvo 850 glt 1993. What kind on tester should i get to check those codes, and where can I buy one (I'm in Quebec, Canada) thanks!!!

Hi On my volovo 850 glt 1993 my SRS light is always on. I've check the codes on B5 switch, I got a 2-1-2 code.......Where can I find a list of codes on B5 switch?. Thanks!
