1995 850 SRS problem

I need some help with my 95 850 airbag. The trouble code is 2-1-2 which refers to the drivers side airbag and module. I am on an island in Southeast Alaska in a town of 8500 people (Active Duty U.S. Guard). I replaced the airbag and tried to reset the code, no luck. I understand there are several other things I can check, however it looks like it may need a special tool to diagnose the problem
Any suggestions (the closest dealer is 500 miles away by ferry)
