Anyone else have this prob? Pedal is very soft when coming to a stop, but once stopped and I let off of the pedal and press it again it is hard. Do I have a fluid leak or is it a vac prob?

You most likely have air in your brake lines. You need to bleed all four disks. It would be a good time to flush the old fluid out and replace with new fluid. (I prefer DOT 4 synthetic).

Volvo (and most other European auto manufactures) recommends that brake fluid be changed every two years. When DOT 3/4-brake fluid gets a little moisture in the fluid it can cause mushy brakes also. They usually do not rebound when being pumped.

Be careful not to get any fluid on any painted surface, DOT 3/4 will remove the paint.
