vibrations in S80 T6

Post by nvk »

There are pretty clear vibrations in the floor on both sides on my S80 T6 -99. A little also in the seats. This is much more than compared to other cars of around same year. Is this a sign there is something wrong or is this typical for the T6?

Standing still? Accellerating? Constant road speed? Or constant highway speed?

Engine or suspension? Any noise associated with it?

This is at constant road speed, both road and highway. Also during acceleration. Noticable in floor, pedals.

So we can rule out engine vibration by what you said. That leaves drivetrain, wheels... things that move only when the car moves.

First thing that comes to mind is wheels -- are they balanced? Second, wheels again -- are they out-of-round? I'd go to a tire shop and have them rebalance the wheels, and ask them if they can test for roundness. Have them torque lugs to spec when they're done, or you may get warped rotors.
