Service light comes on independently from any external input -- it's just a timer.
It can be set (minimum interval to max. interval) something like 12 months/x-miles to 18 months/x-miles.

Could I reset.., & how??
I had a check up before its time & I think the dealer didn't reset again?

I don't know how to reset on '95s. On 1996+ you need to reset with a reset tool (dedicated) or laptop with OBDII software.
Perhaps someone who knows will chime in.
As for the clamp, I'd go to an auto parts store and get a bunch of general purpose screw clamps and put one on the tube.

I just did that and I believe it should hold. Just in case, I will go by the dealership parts depot and make sure I am using the right type. I guess I will have them reset that service light as well.

you can reset the service light manually on 1993-1995 Volvo 850's. Only the 1996+ require a tool.
