Hi,
I am wondering if you all might have some advice on how to find OEM hoses for my oil cooler. '99 S70 GLT
As you know Volvo has discontinued these hoses. 9496492 & 9496493
The URO replacements go every year almost on the calendar date. I suspect they are just plain empd rubber without the resistant liner that the originals have.
They dry rot and crack right at the stress point of the fitting and hose clamp.
I would love to replace them with silicone but finding someone to create them is proving difficult.
I had the idea of putting a kind of silicone sleave over the pipe fittings to provide some resistance to coolant breakdown but that seems kind of problematic.
Is there another model that might have a hose that could work?
Have you had to deal with this issue?
Any ideas?
Thanks for considering!

I'd go to a heavy / fleet truck parts place, and ask them about it. Large trucks have lots of high pressure hoses to deal with. We have a local place like that, and they make the hoses onsite. It's been awhile since I've had to do it, but they might even use your metal ends; just recrimp with a new collar.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

My car just has the rubber hoses without fittings that are clamped on the pipes. They have a few S curves in them to route it but it would be nice to have the longevity of silicone over the crappy aftermarket.

Nice looking 850!

The -92 only seems available from URO. The -93 still seems available from Volvo. The shorter hose I would look for generic oil resistant hose. If you are concerned it may collapse, you could see if you can find a spring to fit it on the outside of the hose to help it hold it's shape.

That's an interesting idea.
The -93 is still available but now listed as a legacy part so whatever stock is left now.
Hoping to future proof it.
for the shorter maybe a short cut of flexible silicone as it doesn't have to bend in as many ways as the - 93?

URO is trash.
Not sure if there's a way to convert to the later hsoe design that's still available new, but it's probably worth looking into.
Foir a cheap and dirty solution, you could try cutting the hardlines on each end, flaring them, and replacing the center rubber part with a good quality hose and clamp it on.
You can also try to see if there's a tractor or power equipment supply place around you that makes hydraulic hoses for tractors - they may be able to make some custom ones for you.

When I did the RN oil pan/cooler install on my '97 T5, I wound up just using generic 5/8" high-temp silicone hose for the -92 one.

When I need to replace the other original, they make a u-bend that'll work. For your instance, a u-bend and a coupler to a section of straight would be fine if it needs to be longer.
I don't remember which water pipe I used on mine (I had a P80 RN and P2 ones), but my pan was from a P2R motor.
These hoses move coolant, so unless you're drenching them in oil from a leak, there should be no issues.
Mine has been this way for about 3-1/2 years and almost 20K miles.
