As the 850 never had the filter, they are more prone to ingesting crap that can work it's way into the bottom of the AC evaporator in the cabin air system. You can see it if you remove the cabin fan and use a small mirror and a flash light to look along the airway to the left of the fan. Look for aluminum corrosion along the bottom edge. If there is crap in there, you might be able to remove some of it with careful use of picks and a air compressor with a blow nozzle.
If you read Abscate recent battle with his V70 AC evaporator you will see why it is worth making sure you minimise the opportunity for corrosion damage!
Good Luck!
Neil.

Look for the telltale dark stains of pag oil that foretell a leak in the evaporator …like this

Oops yes you're correct, wrong idea. My diverter thoughts got... diverted.BrandonRoberson wrote: ↑19 Jul 2025, 07:09Also, I realize maybe you meant the hot/cold airflow flap in the climate control system. I had considered that, but figured that was probably functioning fine, since with the AC switched off, the vent temp matches the ambient air temp. Please correct me if this logic is flawed.matthew1 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2025, 15:11 Welcome to MVS. Hot cold diverter door stuck maybe viewtopic.php?p=613629#p613629
