also made the mistake of getting a C70 rear end for the '99
Sean found the c70 rear end is a bit wider and had to roll his 2000 s70 fenders, too.

There is an extra 6mm plate on the axles on the c70 rear ended on both sides I believe is the difference

Yep, C70 delta link is wider. This isn’t a problem if running the correct offset wheels, and a benefit to handling.

This is a 2 day job, max if you have a lift. If not, add a half day. I stripped my parts car on stands without issues. It’s a rather straightforward swap, since the cars were originally designed to all be FWD. Unbolt and removed AWD crap, bolt in FWD stuff.

bmdubya1198’s swap thread linked earlier is very good. I also documented the swap in my Emerald 98 AWD’s thread on Swedespeed after an unsuccessful DW200 retrofit project and failing NLA factory pump took the car out of commission. Link to that starting around post 929 on page 47 here:

It’s worth noting that a good alternative fuel pump is now available from Vast Tuning, but wasn’t at the time.

2004 XC70 - Mystic Silver/Black - former workhorse, parted
2005 V50 T5 M66 FWD - Black Stone/Black leather - former garage queen, sold

The OEM pump made by Walbro is still available, under a different name now - thats in my Ekaterina Resurrection thread. I bought two of them, Im pretty sure.

Look for WALBRO GRJ444 for compatability

I love that your SS thread links back to Bdubs AWD - FWD conversion - kudos to both you guys for documenting the crap out of that.

It may have been at that time, but it was not by the time I needed one for my car. Trust me, I searched high and low for that thing. The only available replacements were PPS (junk, no thanks) or some no-name brand off eBay from Europe. Neither of which I trusted, and I sure didn’t want to do that job ever again.
