Re use conecting rod bolts?? 1996 volvo 850 (b5252fs)

Post by mikhael »

Hi guys, im rebuilding my 10v b5252fs engine (from my 1996 volvo 850) and dont seem to be able to find replacement bolts for the conecting rods..

i believe the oem number is 1271900 (m9 x 1.5 x 50 seems to be the dimensions of my bolts)

considering i cant find replacements will re using them be fine...? i heard they stretch.

if i am to re use them do i use the normal torque setting? i have heard different numbers for example

one person said 33 ft·lb (45 N·m)
another person said its 2 stage finishing with a 90 degree..

can anyone confirm?

Volvo club uk has good pdfs of these specifications.

Make sure you keep the conn rods together and in the same orientation of top and bottom, mark them. They are so called ” fracture rods” and each one is unique.
