I once bought a Civic that had the timing belt break while idling in a parking lot. We threw a belt on it and it ran perfectly fine. I wonder if the Momentum at idle just isn't high enough to bend the valves.

I vaguely remember watching a video where they milled the valve recess on the pistons to be deeper and give more clearance for the valves in case of a timing belt failure. Supposedly it worked.
