Why is my SRS warning light on? Topic is solved

I removed my steering wheel airbag to re-dye the leather steering wheel and put it back on the same way I took it off - it's only a two prong plug. Now the SRS warning light goes off for a second or two after starting, then comes back on and stays on. Why?

Did you disconnect the battery while you did this work? If not it set an SRS code because the system is monitored all the time. It can only be turned off at the dealer.
