93 850 GLT radio problems

I have a 93 850 GLT with radio problems. The AM/FM reception just goes out when ever it feels like it. The tape works fine all the time. Any clues to what would make the radio reception just drop? If not can someone recomend a good after market with CD?

When it goes out, does it go silent or can u detect static in AM mode?

When it goes out all FM stations are silent, I get a few AM stations (less than when I get FM signal), most are week . Some are so week that i can pick up my engine reving up. When i accelerate you can hear the engine through the AM static.

i have a 95 850 with a sony after market deck and infinty speakers with two 1OOO watt subs in the back running off of a sony 76O watt amp. i have gone through two factory decks in my car. one had the same issue yours is having, just get a new volvo double din alpine enhanced deck from a dealer or ebay.
