Dual exhaust for 98 V70 AWD

For those with V70 AWD versions with the stock single outlet muffler on the right side, the 2000 V70 R dual muffler is a direct fit. I had one installed today on my 98 AWD. There are lots of earlier posts on this but I hadn't seen one recently. I'm attaching photos of the muffler system and how it looks on the car. My understanding is that there is no performance advantage, but it looks and sounds good. The muffler system was $272 at Waltrip and the endpipes were $42 each. I still need a plastic fitting for the left bumper.

Great Pics and very nice shopping in of the text...
( I especially like the smaller font perspective on the left tip. )

I have always wanted to set up with the dual tips, but
everytime I'm under the car, my stock single just looks too good!
If it would just rust a little...Something to justify replacement!

Anyway - Great Post! Someone should put this in the database.

I sympathize. My left muffler had a scrape in it and looked rusty for several years, but had not actually leaked yet. I passed up the change last year but got the dual system as a birthday present from my wife. One or the largest boxes I ever got. She refused to wrap it:)

it should also be mentioned that the factory '00R dual exhaust also fits all AWD 98-00 applications including the XC

holler1, the part number for that left frame is 9484490 according to the swedespeed article.

if anyone is interested in a sound clip, do a youtube search for "v70xc dual"

Where did you buy your dual exhust from. I have 98 v70 xc. I have been looking to replace mind.

My pro-muffler shop was unable to bend pipe to create a dual exhaust for the 99 XC70 with Magnaflow stainless mufflers. I was happy to read your message but googled Waltrip and could not track down the part# 9470703. Can you send me a link or a phone# so I can order this exhaust??

Waltrip is not selling out of state (shipping) anymore, no exceptions
