How do I fix my MAF plug?

Post by Dave K »

The plug on my MAF does not get a good connection and a read the thing on Bay 13 about fixing it but I do not have or know where to get the product that it talks about using on the connection. Is there a product that is easy to find that I can use to make the connection better?

If I can not get it to work are the cheap MAFs (like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... egory=6755 )
OK or do I need to get a bosch unit?

Thanks

Dave

These cars are super picky on all of the sensors but the MAF in particular. I have not had a MAF connector problem but my recollection is that the fix is nothing more than a zip tie around the connector socket to increase the tension on the connector from the harness.

My guess is that a junk yard MAF is better than most of the aftermarkets if the MAF is truly bad.

I agree with Ozark. The zip tie around the connector is the "fix" for a bad plug. Pretty basic but it works.
