Noise at 12 MPH. ABS module?

Each morning, or after car sits a while there is a noise from the left front wheel well/firewall area. Similar to a small spring breaking or when the abs pulses.

Only seems to happen when its been sitting a while, and only does it once each time.

Car is 99 s70 t5 auto.

My car does a similar thing but from the REAR wheel. It sounds sort of like a 'scrape' noise.

I think it might be a knackered wheel bearing (already renewed the discs, pads and shoes at the back), but there's no other symptom so I'm going to leave it until it starts growling.

It's just the ABS self test.

It also states in the manual that it does this. At 12 MPH after the car has been started, the ABS performs a self-test. It sounds exactly as you described, and you may even feel a little quick vibration.

Perfectly normal.
