So what is everyone up to?

Do you get good results with the clay bar? I have never used it to be honest.bmdubya1198 wrote:I was thinking the same thing not long ago. Let's get this going!
Yesterday I clayed a bunch of overspray off from painting the driver's door and waxed my V70.
The clay bar is a great tool, but just make sure you buy a good one. I made the mistake of buying that Chinese knock-off 3M stuff on Amazon... never again! Buy a reputable brand like Mother's, Meguiar's, or Griot's. I have some thick overspray, so I'm probably going to need to go over it again, but on the lighter parts it worked great. Definitely something to try out. You'll never believe how rough your paint is until after you clay it!ZionXIX wrote:Do you get good results with the clay bar? Got on my knees and thanked my 1999T5 for still running me around reliably at 180k miles with two last kids in college. Two more years
You could buy some rebuilt lines from this guy.......clarkS70glt wrote:I removed the oil cooler lines with the intention of rebuilding, but after inspecting the tubing that the hoses are attached to, ended up being too rusty from upstate New York winters to rebuild, also 18 years old with 190k miles. Ordered new OEM lines, which is what I was trying to avoid. None available to score at my local pick-n-pull, they probably would have been rusty also.
Do you know if he still sells those lines? I might need to order the basic set. I rebuilt mine with what I thought was transmission cooler hose, but turned out to be heater hose. They are sweating oil and I'd really like to replace the hose with something that will hold up much better.ZionXIX wrote:You could buy some rebuilt lines from this guy.......clarkS70glt wrote:I removed the oil cooler lines with the intention of rebuilding, but after inspecting the tubing that the hoses are attached to, ended up being too rusty from upstate New York winters to rebuild, also 18 years old with 190k miles.
