Volvo Repair Database Homebrew Seafoam

Post by mecheng » Wed Sep 27, 2017 11:52 am

You can make Seafoam treatment much cheaper than buying it.
This is the reference I used but to simplfy it and give you more info:

Typical Seafoam application is 473mL

Therefore for a 4:2:1 ratio

270 ml Diesel
135 ml Coleman Camping Fuel
68 ml 99% Rubbing alcohol

The Diesel lubricates the fuel pump and valves. The Naphtha (Coleman camping fuel / aka White Gas) is the detergent. The rubbing alcohol removes water in the system (not sure this is vital in all cases).

The idle in my car is very smooth now and it seems a bit more peppy. Make sure you add it to a full tank of gas.
