Volvo Announces Free Towing for Life on All Its Cars of Every Age

Post by wheelsup »

...to a dealer.

But still, pretty impressive concept.
No matter what Volvo passenger vehicle you own, no matter how old it is or how clapped out it might be, it now qualifies for free roadside towing. Volvo is extending the free towing service it provides in-warranty customers via its roadside assistance coverage to every Volvo model, "no matter what vintage," according to the automaker, which has dubbed the service Tow for Life.

Funny, I just posted about this on MVS front page. Yea, it's very smart, and is yet another nice program that shores up Volvo's public persona as a benevolent, super-safety-conscious brand.

So they'll have cameras to watch you go less than 112 mph, until you break down. Then they tow you back to their place. ;)

I know I won't be buying a 2020 up Volvo anytime soon... But if they finally get their autonomous driving working flawlessly I could be plastered while behind the wheel and there won't be any speeding or fun involved for sure. This doesn't sound like swedish minded Volvo-safety but China educating the rest of the world.

Vehicles will be towed to the nearest Volvo dealer for repair.
I have a 21 year old car that Volvo doesn't even sell many parts for any more. What could possibly go wrong?

Just a marketing tactic.

Just like Amazon free shipping.

Or Sears LT warranty on tools.

If Volvo can go away from using iPhone to start the car (hopefully the phone works) or reduce the amount of electronic crap in the car, then I'd buy it. Otherwise, it is just marketing tactic.

The Volvo company today is not the same company when I bought my 1991 Volvo 240 5sp MT years ago...
The quality is worse now...
