Everything on the Volvo S80. Sometimes called an "executive car", the S80 was Volvo's top-of-the-line passenger car. P2 platform.

That sounds odd. Did they check the ETM?

I was wandering what you had done with this problem and how is the car doing? Mine tends to surge up and down while at a stop and going slow but it has yet to die.

Just curious?!?!?!?

Guess what??? It has died twice today when I came to a quick stop!!

Otherwise, you are getting the shaft! 12k miles isn't a precursor to catastrophic failure of an engine. Can you get it to an independent shop to check? I would tend to agree with Eli and be leaning toward the Electronic Throttle Module. And in that instance, the dealership would be necessary to perform a replacement and coding. However, given the currenct "climate" surrounding this issue, they will bear the brunt of the cost for this repair!!
