I too have a 1999 S-80 T6 and all the light came on IE: urgent asap, anti- lock brake lite, service engine and soforth,,, I ck'd for several weeks and found Mr. Rocha out in California and e-mailed him and he told me with his instructions how to remove the abs module and send it to him and he would ck it out for no charge to see if it was repairable...he mailed me and said that it was repairable for cheap monies,,,,(dealer cost on that part module is $900.00 us dollars). I think that I paid $175.00 including shipping,,,, had it back in less than 10 days...Guess what it works PERFECT, he also told me how to reset the ck engine lite...I spoke to him on a couple of ocassions just to diagnosis purposes and he is the MAN!!!!!

My question to you all is how do I reset the airbag light without going to the dealer and his huge price tag

I bet the Air bag light has nothing to do with the ABS module. But, I'm not for sure on how to reset the light. You may ask the same question in Volvospeed Forum.

I don't believe you can reset the SRS system without a volvo scan tool, however, other code readers may work too.

You are correct...SRS is only dealer or Volvo Scan Tool. There are none (or if there are, very very few) that can reset this.

Thanks, I wasn't sure about the other readers.

I think it's a safety thing, in case of an accident, you want the diagnostic info that's stored in the unit. Like the infamous "black box"!

I am in a similar situation rn with 'Brake Failure Stop ASAP' for a while now in 2000 s80 2.9L . Recently, the engine would judder and would not let to accelerate higher assuming it is in limp mode. The door locks works intermittently. Trip meter wasn't working for a long time meaning a lot of miles have been missing before and after I bought, although I barely put any miles on it. Having the battery connected would drain it in a week or two despite removing some parasitic fuses like cigarette lighter, audio amplifier, etc,. RN the voltage drop across the fuse# 23 of 10 amp is around 175 mA when car is locked and resting.

Disconnecting the battery and connecting it back after about 15 min. will give a lot of surprises but can at least get me out of the judder and bring me home. The back doors were not used for a while until now and I am assuming that to have triggered the symptoms.

The problem with the ABS unit is I have rounded the screws long back and luckily I didn't have a bigger issue until now. The drill I have does not have enough room in there. I am thinking dremel, also to check here if there is an alternate as well.
