Hi,
I'm thinking about purchasing an S80 from an auction house. The car has about 89000 miles and they're asking for $11,800.
At any rate, I wondered if there were any known issues that I should be aware of before buying this car used?
Also, why is it that Volvo's depreciate so much? Wasn't this a 55,000 dollar car originally?
Thinking of buying a 2001 S80...what are known problems? Topic is solved

RUSSIANVOLVOLOVER
This car is not so quality as 240 , 940 , & 740 Volvos. I know people who bought old S 80 and belive me thay are not very happy .
I know now it is very hard to find a car of buisness class and bue it in about 12 000 $ but try to do it .
I said you all that i can.
Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i have had volvos from 240s to 850's, and they all had some kind of electrical problems over my 15 years as a Volvo owner. also wife has had a few other makes of cars with equally bad problems Honda Oddyssy is side door problems, doge caravan with the demonstrabley bad transmission. Only had one weird electrical problem with the T6 that was cleared up over the cell phone. have had the T6 for 6 months with over 100K miles on it. I've spent WAY more on upgrades than repais (practically zero except for maintenance) that even if i did have to replace the tranny it wouldn't acount for much of the cost of the car. this has been my most favorite car; for a mid-life crisis it's much more enjoyable than cliche' litle red corvette, BMW, or Audi etc....
