ok. so someone side swiped my 1991 940 se on the freeway spun me three times at 70 mph slammed into the center divider spun again, hit the wall again, one more time around into the wall and stopped in the middle of the freeway... we survived! they fled the scene. so. needless to say the car was totaled!
I found a 1990 760 with a beautiful body and a blown engine. I would like to know if there is any known no no's for just swapping the engine over. I love these cars! I've punched the cylinders on my 2.3 4cylder to 30 over. up graded to a new turbo... I just want the thing to run.... like it wants to!
so couple things...
1. where can I get a injector wiring harness diagram?
2. what makes the injectors pulse?
3. is the flywheel for injector pulse or not?

1. volvowiringdiagrams.com
2. the multiport fuel injection control module, Bosch LH 2.4 same for both of those vehicles. RH passenger footwell in front of door
3. the flywheel signal goes to the ignition control module, Bosch EZK on a bracket above brake pedal
I would be inclined to get the fuel and ignition control modules from the 91 and use with that engine.

They're basically the same car. I don't see any problem doing the swap. The 1991 Volvo 940 SE was a 960 Turbo in every market except North America. The 1991 940 SE is just a carry over of the 1990 760, but good luck finding any technical info on the car. I found the 1991 940 SE listed in Volvo service documents as a 1991 960 Turbo.
