Hello,
I've got a low oil pressure message in my S80 Volvo. I took it to the shop and they tried a lot of things, until they realized that the oil pan o-rings were bad. They replaced them and the pressure now is fine. The problem is that the light with the message still comes out. They also replaced the oil pump. Please, help. They say that they have done everything that they could do.

oh, nuria, welcome to my world! this weekend we got a message that said no oil pressure stop car immediately, or something to that effect. yesterday we had the car towed to a local volvo shop and they told us that the oil had sludged up the engine. the car is a 2002 s80 with 70k on it and we get the oil changed between 3 and 5k every time, well below the 7k recommendation! so how much is this little repair going to cost us? try $1500!!!! i am in SHOCK!
it seems that there has been class action suits against other manufacturers for the same issue, but not volvo! our guy told us that he sees this all the time and i called my stepdad who works at a volvo dealership and he said the same thing! i wonder how many people out there have been afflicted with this issue and if there is anything we can do about it? toyota now offers an 8 year no-sludge warranty on their vehicles.
good luck!

The oil pan o-rings were bad. Looks like most of the 1999 S80 LEMONS
that Volvo sold have the same problem. Thank you for your input!
