'89 760 Turbo (aut.) won't idle when cold

Whenever I start it up and it's cold I have to keep pressing the gas to warm it up before I go. As soon as I let go of the gas it dies.

My 89 did that last year and a new Air mass meter took care of the problem. Too bad they are rather expensive (but easy) to replace.

89 turbo wagon, same problem, same solution corrected it, I also learned from this website, good idea to disconnect battery over night, then install new air mass meter, then reconnect battery. I paid$220 for the unit, but hey, if it last as long as the old one 14 years, not a bad investment per year
