144 front and rear doors

Can I replace my front and rear door on my 1974 144GL with doors from a 164 sedan or a 245 station wagon? Both of the later cars are at our local junk yard but I have to pull them off and pay for them before I can try them on my car. Does anyone know which other models fit the 144?

Hi Jim,
I'm not sure that the 164 doors would fit BUT I'd bet that the 240 will not.
Do you have a digital camera? Take a picture of the 164 doors and your 144 doors from the same distance and compare.
We have 4 140s in our bone yard but we are in the wilds of British Columbia

Hi Jim,

I am rather shure that doors from a 164 sedan will fit. The 164 is just a more exclusive car with changes in the hood and front and of cource a 6 cylinder motor. No other models will fit your 144.

Door for 240 series will not fit.
