slips into neutral - '96 850 rear drive slips out of gear Topic is solved

At 60,000 miles, 5 speed manual floor shift slips out of gear into neutral,
usually shortly after shifting into first then accelerating.
Started doing it maybe once each day or two, now does it about every 3 miles. Dealer's repair shop no help. Any ideas? Shifter otherwise acts fine.
