hi guys
I own a 244GLE, B23A, with a Zenith Stromberg 175 CD-2 Carburetor that needs a rebuild.
I found this Brand New Zenith carburetor 175 CD 25 (originally fits Land Rover 6 cylinder). its a good price, and want to buy it for my 244 instead of rebuilding my old one.
see here:
Brand New Zenith carburetor 175 CD 25 Land Rover 6 cylinder maybe Triumph rover | eBay
I was told that it would fit well, but still have some doubts.
What do you guys think ? would it fit my 244?
Default a new Carburetor for my 244GLE, B23A Topic is solved

I'm not familiar with these sidedraft carbs, but if cfm (cubic feet per minute) were different on both engines, then it may run rich unless rejetting can be done, if this is the case.re_ilan wrote:175 CD 25 (originally fits Land Rover 6 cylinder)

The linkage lever on the side of the carburetor. It's held on with a nut.

Hello im working on same conversion...found a NOS Zenith stromberg at ebay from a Rover too.
You must change accelerator linkage side...remove copper pipe (use a 3/8 drill) and a vise grip..to prevent deformation,, it allows you to remove without damage.
Today i will install and test..but im sure that mixture will be too rich.. (rover is 2.6L).
check this pictures,..will help you maybe..

If there is an available vacuum port on intake manifold, one might attach one end of a rubber hose to this vacuum port, and the other end to a gasoline filter, like a Fram G1000. Ideally, the vacuum port would be in a central location.claymore850 wrote:im sure that mixture will be too rich.. (rover is 2.6L)

Maybe the metering rod and/ or metering jet can be swapped over from the original carb. British Leyland tuning guide shows a main mixture adjustment under the plastic cap.claymore850 wrote:Hello im working on same conversion...found a NOS Zenith stromberg at ebay from a Rover too.
