Hey y’all! I reached out to IPD and they pointed me here.
I am working on trying to save a 91 780
The driver window won’t go up even but can be guided up before dropping crooked
I took the door apart and found this broken plastic bit that I believe would be the culprit
However I can’t find this piece anywhere but this skandix listing ( https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/b ... r/1072977/ )
which would be sweet…if shipping wasn’t a flat $180 for the $15 plastic bit.
Volvo part number is 1268660 I believe
Seems to only be on some 940s and 780
Does anyone have a hidden source for parts or an extra lying around they can sell in the us ?
Thank you so much in advance
Need help finding this plastic window “hoop” fork piece - 1991 780/940/760

240 Volvos had a similar part, but that looks longer.
Check this link for possible shipping method and source viewtopic.php?t=105901
Alternate repair possibility: If the width of the fork is the same as the 240 part, a pair of 240 fork halves might be glued together to make the longer 760 part. As I recall, the fork slides into the sheet metal frame and it supported on the outside. The glue would not need to be structural. The 240 parts may still need to be used, but there are a lot of 240s.

Solved!
I was able to find a 89 740 at the junk yard and grabbed the one in there for both sides can likely rig something if sizing is a bit different.
Thanks everyone!
( if anyone in the future finds this post and is good at 3d printing, seems like it could be lucrative.
