I've just purchased a 1998 s90, it seemed to be running fine at first but began to stall when coming to a stop on the way home. Are there any well know causes for this that i should check before replacing parts?
There are couple other things i noticed while driving it, the brakes are very soft and the pedal almost hits the floor. i know from reading about my 98 s70 that they had abs module issues, is this also a thing for the s90?
I also noticed when i tried to scan it using the obdII port that there was no power coming through it, whether the car was running or not. so i could not check for codes. my theory is that something is just broken or disconnected somewhere inside the car.
Any advice on what could be causing this would be greatly appreciated

Well, fix those brakes before anything else. Stopping >>> Going
If it is a new to you car, post up some engine pics focusing on vacuum hoses and coolant hoses to get a sense of general condition.
A 28 year old car will need some new rubber parts to address air leaks that will cause poor running.
New fluids, cap rotor plugs are a good start.
