Wet Carpet Topic is solved

Have to park under trees. I think maby drain holes needed cleaning. The only drain hole I could find was under the door and I think it is a drain for the air intake grates in front of the windsheild. The carpet is wet on the right front foot area. Are there any other drain holes . I can't find any info. It's not the heater core .Help!

It is an 88 240DL 4 dr sedan. Thanks!

Thanks, it's an 88 240DL. It is wet only on right front footwell and seems to be wet going up towards the dash about 6-8 inches .

One friend to me had the following problem giving wet carpets. He got a crack just above the fastening point of the upper hinge for the door. So he had to put silicone there.

I've had this happen in my '85, generally it backs up into the rear passenger foot well but it has come through in the front as well.

The AC system has a condensate drip tube inside the center console, next to the passenger foot area. As I recall the tube is readily visible when you
take off the panel - it is probably filled up with gunk. Snake it out with a
piece of wire and that should solve the problem.
