Noise in rear right suspension Topic is solved

I have a 1995 RWD Volvo 960. On occasions when going over a bump or sometimes accross the railroad tracks. I notice a 'thud' coming from somewhere in the rear rt. wheele or a fender. This noice was noticed when the car was new, and the mechanic that supposedly addressed the situation then, said that there were some loose wiring that was bumping against the body of the car, causing the noise. However, the noise is still there. Any suggestions???? Anyone?

The exhaust runs in that area. My mysterious thump turned out to be a broken flange on the muffler. The flange still entered the muffler, but because of the flex, they would move independantly of one another.
