Hoping someone can help direct me. I recently replaced my steering rack and power steering pump and when I started the car back up the Anti Skid Service required light came on almost right away. I thought it was because my car was out of alignment severely so I took car to shop and had alignment completed. That is done but light is still on. How can I fix it? I don't believe any part is bad as I am certain it has to do with me replacing the rack. Is there a scanner that can reset the sensors so it identifies the new position as correct?
It says DTSC is off as well. Please help

I want to be wrong here. I suspect that you damaged your clock spring during instalation of the new power steering rack. If the steering wheel was not secured in the straight position(seatbelt method would work great), it is possible that wheel turned several times while the shaft link was disconnected and your clock spring was damaged. Another possibility is damage to the steering angle sensor or its calibration. Get yourself some easy to use thinktool, launch, topdon entry level diagnostic tool for about 300-500 and try to see what exact code you have and what your angle sensor is reporting. You will pay likely 200 for 1 hour diagnostics anyway, so might be able to justify investment.

Need to scan for codes. A iCarSoft compatible with Volvo is not terribly expensive.

I actually did pick up the icarsoft scanner and it said that the steering angle sensor is the code. When I tried to "relearn" the code with steering wheel center my abs light came on. I dont think the scanner did the right thing. Also, the relearn function of the SAS has four calibration options in my scanner. Do I need to do all 4? I will try to get a pic of what I am talking about. All in all it did say that the steering angle sensor is the issue. but when I did disconnect the steering wheel. I may have turned it one full circle by accident but I did not turn it a bunch of times. It stayed straight forward the entire time. Would I then need a new sensor or disconnect the steering wheel and turn it and then reattach?
Would any of those work? Thanks for all the help. Apologies for all of the questions.

Can I simply remove the old clockspring and, if it is still good, recenter it and reinstall?

I’m of no help but would bet there is a YouTube video somewhere on how to do it.Pretribrapper wrote: ↑17 Feb 2026, 06:56 I actually did pick up the icarsoft scanner and it said that the steering angle sensor is the code. So here is the latest. I removed the steering wheel and got down to the clockspring and it takes about 6.75 turns from left to right and gets tight. When I try to unwind to half of that point it should be centered. I tried that but it did not line up with how steering wheel lines up to mount back on car. I have these codes and liggts

The fact that your steering wheel is not in the correct position, is not surprising. It is hard to get alignment correctly following replacement of the rack and components. I would continue with presumed "center" clockspring location. Try to use your tool to go through calibration of those 4 items(it is already broken, you have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Icarsoft gives decent instructions and is decently capable(I have one and it is my go to for easy issues, but it fails when you need for precise data with graphs and more delicate calibration). If after calibration of 4 units your code is gone(you may need to erase all codes and cycle key to reset the system) you can go to alightment shop. If not, we'll, you saved so much money with doing this project yourself, I would recommend to go to dealer and ask them to look into this with dealer level tools(vs trying different scanner if availble or indy shop with good reputation). Also you can buy alldata subscription for your car for 25 per month and read about rack and pinion replacement procedure and required calibration after and how ti perform them.
