I bought the Bilstein B4 struts.

Compressing the spring was a challenge but I figured it out.

Good luck and if you find something that works well and you are happy with post it here for others to read about.

Paul,

I wanted to say thank you for documenting everything that you did. We made a decision to buy a 2010 S80 for my son to drive to college. During my research I found your thread. it gave me confidence that with proper maintenance we can easily get 8-10 more years of service out of it.
