S80 2008 dashboard centre speaker wiring

Post by Mastiz »

Hi all, couldn't find anything with search.

I have a S80 2008 T6 with the High performance sound system. I'm a bit confused, since I have the tweeters in the panels by the mirrors, which I thought were only in the Premium Sound package.

Anyway. I bought a centre speaker and I'll try to track down the rest of the speakers and amplifier at a later date.

Looking at the wiring diagrams it's not clear - at least not to me - if High performance has the cabling for the dashboard centre speaker prewired or not. I tried looking at the looms and contacts in the passenger footwell, but I could't find the correct connector.

I wouldn't want to remove the dashboard speaker grill just to find out that there is no cable present.

Does anyone have info on this? Thanks!

Mastiz, thanks for being an MVS member since 2010(!). Is this grille notoriously difficult to remove?

For P2, but likely to be somewhat similar: viewtopic.php?t=56535

Use a bone tool or plastic PC parts remover tool.
Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Thanks Matthew!

Yes , it's about the same on the P3. I'm comfortable removing the grille - I've done it on my old P2 S80 in the past - with a bent wire that I've prepared, I just think there's always the risk that one might scratch the dashboard or cause some other trouble, so that's why I'm asking about the wires to avoid doing it over.
