Hi
Im a new owner of a 1999 s40 t4, and the rated hp and torque is 200hp and 300nm respectively.
Now for the manual the stock 0-100 time is 7ish right?
the auto, of course will be slower, but how much?
this car does not feel like it has a turbo
is it supposed to be really felt when it kicks in?
the mechanic told me that the turbo oil feed pipe is leaking a tiny bit, and that in due time should be replaced. i realise that could be affecting the performance.. that was my reasoning. but THIS much?
after that i took it to another volvo dealer, and the mechanic said the same thing, but topped the car up with oil.
since then, the car has blown the dipstick out twice after flooring the car a couple of times!
both times it has blown heaps of oil out, but when i check the levels, they still hang around the same level
im guessing that the guy overfilled it with oil... i hope. does that sound reasonable? im going back tomorrow and im going to raise hell at that mechanic...
what could possibly be happening here?
do i have something major on my hands or what?
help in any way if you can please
99 volvo s40 t4 problem.....

apox,
How many mile does your Volvo have ? An oil leak on the turbo oil return pipe seal at the block will not effect your performance. Excessive blow by usually cause by worn out piston rings. That leads back to my first question, how many mile does your Volvo have ? And also, before you take your car back and raise hell, check the engine oil level. Your dipstick might just have worn out oring which what keep the dispstick in place inside the tube.
Regards,
Dave
