Try Michelin Pilots. There the standard in the UK. Or if its the New S40 its Perrilli P-zero Rosso

I put BFG Traction TA-V's on mine. Work great. May be more than you want to spend.

Try Kuhmo. I got four for my S70 a couple years back and they were GREAT. Inexpensive with similar feel to Michelins but longer tread life and MUCH cheaper. on TireRack.com, they ran about $75 a piece. Just got an '05 V0 wagon and plan on putting Kuhmo tires on it straight away.
