S40 Radio Replace Topic is solved

I want to replace the radio/cassette player in my 2001 S40 with a cd/cassette/radio player, part HU 615, but I don't have instructions as to how to remove and I also do not have the code. Got the part from a salvage yard and they gave me the VIN number of the vehicle and said I should be able to get code info from that.

Can anyone give instructions for remove and replace, any special tools needed, etc and any hidden clips on console or whatever. Also does anyone know how I can get the code?

Any help is appreciated.

My 2004 v40 came with a card with the code for the radio on it.
If you don't have that card, your at the mercy of the dealer and will probably have to make a speacial written request for the code.

If you got a decent receipt that has the scrappy's details and itemises the part then depending on what side of bed the dealer got out of and whether you've driven up in your Volvo you may get the code fairly readily. Remember to smile nicely.
