windhield advice xc 01 Topic is solved

I need to replace the winshield of my 01 XC. We were hit by a rock and it cracked about a fourth way across the middle. Anyone replaced a windhield? Any advice on getting it done inexpensively? I am also in need of a rear speaker cover and the wiper for the right headlight. Thanks in advance.

Not an XC, but had mine replaced last year on my S70. The dealer doesn't usually replace these...they farm it out to a local place. Use the yellow pages, and check around. You want the Pilkington glass if at all possible. Call some independent garages and ask them who they would recommend. Go with someone who has a good rep. Windshield replacements are not that expensive if you look around...less than $400...mine was about $300 but they didn't have the OEM Pilkington glass.
