They left off all the stuff under the hood too, like the 10 seconds you need to release the gaiters springs

If my evaporator fails: My mechanic will obviously linch me!!!!!! (I'm sure he daydreams about it already) After watching that video that must be one of the worst jobs on the whole car! How many hours does that job take? I wonder how many on here have attempted it? June

I once tried to undo the dash at the junkyards, just to see. I gave up after 15 min. One thing that may be overlooked, is removing such parts almost always makes them creaky afterwards

I just finished stripping a 2002 V70. Getting the climate control unit out from under the dash was a chore, even when I was cutting and breaking things. I believe it is listed as an 8 hour job (probably just to get it out....).

I'm glad it's rare. I wouldn't tackle that. In the mid 90's Acura Integras were much simpler. Back then many new cars did not include air conditioning. We were allotted 4 hours to install a complete system by the factory including pulling a vacuum. This included the compressor, condenser, evaporator, all the lines and wiring. Forgot if we installed a second fan. At the end of 6 months I barely made the 4 hours. The guy next to me Tony could do the work in 2.5 hours .

Once a mediocre DYI'er always a....

By the way, that's a Taiwanese mechanic. The Chinese is Traditional rather than the Simplify form used in China and now taught in the all the Universities here in the U.S.
