LOUD Running Gear Diagnosis
My 2002 v70 XC has gotten really loud at speeds over 40mph. I did drive over a Piece of lumber on the freeway and the left rear wheel seems to be the origin of the noise since then. When I turn more than 15 degrees or coast downhill it will quiet down briefly. The Volvo has 235K miles and rolls on new Pirelli Scorpions. What is the likely source; where should I start?

Start with pulling the wheels off one by one and do a good inspection of the Wheels, Tires, Brakes and Suspension.

rotate rear wheels to the front, if it gets worse you might have a distorted rim.Kurturbanist wrote: ↑23 Aug 2020, 19:35 My 2002 v70 XC has gotten really loud at speeds over 40mph. Imbalance shows up more on the front than the rear of the car.
It might be nothing more than a missing balance weight.
