but its not open.
Where is the sensor or switch. ?
This might be related to broken rear glass I had fixed last week.
Maybe the repair guy disturbed something or glass got in the hatch panel.

It may be related to the rear glass. Some cars, not mine, route the wire that's grounded when the tailgate is closed through a wire film on the rear window to detect window breakage and set off the alarm. Most of the time the tailgate open problem is due to broken wires in the left hinge area but in your case in may be the window(7/137). When the tailgate is closed a micro-switch in the tailgate latch(3/78) closes and grounds the wire to tell the CEM the tailgate is closed. In either case I think you're going to have remove the upper rear trim to get access to the wires in the left hinge area (54/50 connector). Locate the pink wire and check for any damage and also measure to ground when the tailgate is closed, should be grounded. You might just be able to see a problem with the window wire film.

I don't think the rear window heater is part of the tailgate closed wire path. There should be a separate wire film pattern on the rear window with a different set of wires going to it, the pink wire from the 54/50 connector and a black wire from the same connector. The rear heater resistor film pattern has a red and black wire going to it.

The glass guy broke one of the elec tabs or they delivered it already broken , he installed the glass and just shipped it down the road.
Safe to say the rear defogger probably doesn't work either....missing the main ground connection.
Eric of main st auto solders them back in place, I don't have the tab, i'll try to solder a wire directly to the pad on the glass using tinned marine wire.
EDIT:, that fixed it, no more warning triangle.
