Blower Motor Bearing Lubrication

Post by MoVolvos »

.
Can't remember ever doing work on a blower motor in any cars owned. Just in case can the P80 or P2 blower motors be reached with this hack?

I did my '03 XC about two years ago after listening to it squeal for about 5 years, still silent today! These motors are too expensive to not do this.

Good to know, can it be done in car or does it have to be removed?

The lubrication needs to be done with blower motor out of the car (very easy to remove).

I posted the lub trick in forum, basically using engine oil and let it trickle down the shaft.

The "bearing" is not ball bearings, rather, it is a bushing.

Easy and trick is always welcomed! I guest the motor is low speed so any lubrication will be helpful. Hope I don’t have to tackle one anytime soon.
